Our “Flir” Thermography camera searches for building moisture intrusion; finds leaks in piping systems; and scans electrical panels to detect potential outages before they can occur. In addition, we can also provide service to identify potential problems on switch gears, disconnects, motor starters, motors, pumps, drives, and much more.
The higher the object’s temperature, the greater the IR radiation emitted. Infrared allows us to see what our eyes cannot. Infrared Thermography cameras produce images of invisible infra-red or heat radiation and provide precise, non-contact temperature measurement capabilities. Nearly everything gets hot before it fails.
We first utilized this product at the Burnham Institute. We scanned every piping joint on the project, including several miles of pipe and thousands of fittings that were also analyzed. Connections included every feasible method including brazed copper, welded steel, PVC slip joints, mechanical couplings, and poly connections. The critical nature of the lab experiments and financial consequences of failure determined that even the most minor leak could be catastrophic. This camera was invaluable in guaranteeing system integrity.
